Review: Victor Bravesword 1577

Victor Bravesword series is a very popular series among double players, so here's my review on one of the latest racket from Victor, the Victor Bravesword 1577.

The Specs:

Shaft Material:Ultra High Modulus Graphite + Nano Resin + 7.0 SHAFT
Frame Material:Ultra High Modulus Graphite + Nano Resin
String tension LBS:H ≦ 28 lbs, V ≦ 26 lbs
H ≦ 26 lbs, V ≦ 24 lbs
Weight / Grip Size:3U / G6
4U / G6
Length:675 mm
Balance:HH○○●○○HL
Stiffness:S○○●○○F

As most of the recent ArcSaber series by Yonex, this racket also comes with two different weight (3U & 4U).

The racket is developed in Taiwan but in made in China, paint work wise is in normal glossy finish unlike the top-range Yonex rackets which are in MATT finish.

The design of this racket carry the same style as the rest of the Bravesword series and its diamond-shaped design is said to perform like a SWORD which cut through the air that reduces air resistance by 10% during a swing. Sound very promising.

Game Play..

This racket is suitable for those who are looking for an upgrade from a beginner to a reliable intermediate all-round racket that fall below S$100/RM300. The racket that i'm using for this review is a 4U version. This racket is very suitable for attacking play in double game due to its even balance frame and the special diamond-shaped design which increase the swing speed of the racket. Smash can be executed with high precision but not as powerful and solid like a 3U racket. Drop shots, flat drive, speed and defence is what make this racket shine. Drives are fast enough to give opponent trouble and net play is fantastic as well due to there a little weight on the head which gives you a better feel in control.

Review: Yonex ArcSaber FD

Hi,

Thanks for dropping by again, let me jump into my first ever racquet review of the Yonex ArcSaber FD. Which is quite a new addition by Yonex to it's ArcSaber series.

And the specs?

Flex: Stiff
Weight: 5UG4
Balancing Point: Even Balance
Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Hitting Time..
My response with this racquet is pretty fast, flat drive is excellent. Mean while, the balancing point is actually more towards head-heavy. I would say it measure about 8/10 compare to Voltric 8 LD that I've used before. Due to its light-weight, therefore I still can have quick response with its head heavy balance frame. Smash power is experiencing a little lacking at the baseline but I do not encounter any problem with lob or drop shots (It perform relatively well). However, with good muscle strength, you still can pull a powerful smash out of it.

String:
Yonex BG68Ti at 24lbs.

Grip:
Yonex AC104ex (Wave Grip).

Score:
Power: 7.5/10
Speed: 9/10
Control: 8/10
Defense: 7.5/10
Drive: 9/10
Look: 9/10
Value: 9/10

Price?
Retail at RM189 without string & grip (Sunrise price)
You may find a good condition secondhand price around RM170.

First Hands-On With Victor's Stencil Ink

Welcome to my blog! I'm not a pro badminton player but i love the sports and just would like to go through with some of the journey with those who also have the same interest. Let me straight jump into my first post which is my 1st hands-on with the Victor's Stencil Ink (Red) on my Yonex Arcsaber FD & Fleet Brilliant 66 racquets.

The stencil ink comes in a nice packaging:

Well, clear instructions are also provided on the side of the box:

Basically it says that just shake the stencil liquid well, open the cap cover and brush it against those area you want to have the stencil on gently.

And of course, you'll might need a stencil card to make things smoother:

Next thing you need to do is just place the stencil card on top of your badminton string and start brushing the stencil link on those masked area which is the Yonex logo in my case.

And the result, before:

After applied:

Even though i'm quite a fan of Yonex, but we'll still won't leave others behind. As a results, painted the string of my Fleet Brilliant 66 with the Yonex logo as well :P

Hope you enjoy reading and see you again on the next post.
